Ibaraki Living Guide

Ibaraki prefecture is located in the northeastern part of the Kanto region. It is bordered by Fukushima prefecture to the north, Tochigi prefecture to the northwest, Saitama prefecture to the southwest, and Chiba prefecture to the south, and it faces the Pacific Ocean.The prefectural capital is Mito-shi.

As Tsukuba City is known nationwide as a city of science and also famous as a university town as there is Tsukuba Uinversity. There are many science-related facilities such as the Tsukuba Expo Center and Tsukuba Space Center, which are popular among tourists. The area is also rich in nature, and there are many parks such as Okukuji Prefectural Natural Park and Mito Prefectural Natural Park.
